Have you ever been at sea in a impenetrable fog, when it seemed as if a substantial grey darkness fastens you in and the great ship, tense and anxious, fumble her way toward the shore with sounding-line, and you waited with beating heart for something to happen?
We were like that ship before we took admission in Vivekananda School, I and many others were without compass or sounding line, and no way of knowing how near the harbor was. “Light! Give us light!” was the wordless cry of our souls, and the light of love shone on us in that very hour.
I was blessed to get admittance in Vivekananda School, and I still believe the same after a long journey of 11 years. I am working with the 4th largest independent software manufacturing company in the world as a Lead, managing a team of 20 highly luminous and skilled people.
As I think of my school, and I look around, I think about my past, recall my previous days and the pleasant memories float through my mind when for the first time I had entered the gate. The very thought of my first day at school comes back to my mind.
Our experiences at school and the inspiration of our teachers, helped define our character. They groomed us as a good human being with knowledge, shaped our persona and gave us the confidence to plan our future. This school gave us the understanding of the world. Sitting in my classroom, without moving even a step, I feel like I have traveled around the world.
Vivekananda School runs on a different methodology unlike other schools in the city. The methodology is based on the pragmatic principles of “Self Help’, “Selfless Service” and “Education to all”.
We have heard the critics making economical statements, “Students failing to get admission anywhere gets in Vivekananda School”. Not only me, but also many others in my Batch failed to get admission anywhere else but in Vivekananda School. Reasons were different, but the last resort was Vivekananda School.
Ironically, most of the highly acknowledged schools glance at the family and financial background of the students seeking admission. Unlike these schools, Vivekananda School acknowledged us. The school overlooked any kind of donations and vested interests unlike every other school.
We have discovered a lot in our school and learnt from our teachers, Sharma Mam, Anjani sir, Devrani sir and others. They not only taught us the subjects but prepared us to compete with the world and make our lives better everyday. This prepared a list of successful people in our batch, Capt. Prabhakar Ghildiyal (Indian Army), Advocate Priyanka Chowdhary, Vinod Kuksal (IBM Global Bangalore), Imran Khan (HCL Technologies Noida), Ashok (Bank of America Noida) and many more.
As I sit here, thinking about the past, I realize that how fast time has kept its pace. From all these years, every moment is special for me. My school provided us every possible feedback, nutrition of knowledge and helped us anchor myself firmly into the soil in such a way that the howling winds of difficulties would never be able to carry me away.
