Have you ever been at sea in a impenetrable fog, when it seemed as if a substantial grey darkness fastens you in and the great ship, tense and anxious, fumble her way toward the shore with sounding-line, and you waited with beating heart for something to happen?
We were like that ship before we took admission in Vivekananda School, I and many others were without compass or sounding line, and no way of knowing how near the harbor was. “Light! Give us light!” was the wordless cry of our souls, and the light of love shone on us in that very hour.
I was blessed to get admittance in Vivekananda School, and I still believe the same after a long journey of 11 years. I am working with the 4th largest independent software manufacturing company in the world as a Lead, managing a team of 20 highly luminous and skilled people.
As I think of my school, and I look around, I think about my past, recall my previous days and the pleasant memories float through my mind when for the first time I had entered the gate. The very thought of my first day at school comes back to my mind.
Our experiences at school and the inspiration of our teachers, helped define our character. They groomed us as a good human being with knowledge, shaped our persona and gave us the confidence to plan our future. This school gave us the understanding of the world. Sitting in my classroom, without moving even a step, I feel like I have traveled around the world.
Vivekananda School runs on a different methodology unlike other schools in the city. The methodology is based on the pragmatic principles of “Self Help’, “Selfless Service” and “Education to all”.
We have heard the critics making economical statements, “Students failing to get admission anywhere gets in Vivekananda School”. Not only me, but also many others in my Batch failed to get admission anywhere else but in Vivekananda School. Reasons were different, but the last resort was Vivekananda School.
Ironically, most of the highly acknowledged schools glance at the family and financial background of the students seeking admission. Unlike these schools, Vivekananda School acknowledged us. The school overlooked any kind of donations and vested interests unlike every other school.
We have discovered a lot in our school and learnt from our teachers, Sharma Mam, Anjani sir, Devrani sir and others. They not only taught us the subjects but prepared us to compete with the world and make our lives better everyday. This prepared a list of successful people in our batch, Capt. Prabhakar Ghildiyal (Indian Army), Advocate Priyanka Chowdhary, Vinod Kuksal (IBM Global Bangalore), Imran Khan (HCL Technologies Noida), Ashok (Bank of America Noida) and many more.
As I sit here, thinking about the past, I realize that how fast time has kept its pace. From all these years, every moment is special for me. My school provided us every possible feedback, nutrition of knowledge and helped us anchor myself firmly into the soil in such a way that the howling winds of difficulties would never be able to carry me away.
regards

When you are downed and troubled, when nothing is going on right, Just close your eyes and think of each other. Each one of us will come running to take away the worries. Isn’t that good to know that we all still have the caring heart and love for our school?
I have heard about the school during one of my visits to Dehradun. It simply reflects the people around. I have few of my friends positioned at good designations from Dehradun and they have talked about the Vivekanand school and the methodology the school functions on. I am happy to know that we have schools like Vivekanand school working towards free education. Keep up the good work...... Cheers!!! All the best...
I have heard about this school from few of my colleagues who work with me. I have read that the school was established with the vision of creating a platform for Students, Teachers, Parents and Educational Institute to exploit the power of education to explore, interact, involve and participate in the educational process and mental development of the child.
I have some friends coming from this school( 2 Actually)and would have heard a lot about this school.Being with my friensds I think this school is doing a fine job in bringing up its students with discipline and respect.I just hope , wish and pray that a schools like this come up more often, which would ensre a very good progress of this country ensuring a good future.Great job Done!!!!
I don't want to have the school drowned just because of some lame and lousy reasons.Vivekanand school is one of the most comprising schools that I've known in Dehradun. Hopefully this school keeps running on and on for years to come....
CH33RS !!! best wishes to the management
I agree with you large parts of childhood memories are reminisce of time spent at school. And to have someone take that away from you for some lame reason is unthinkable.
I wonder why people don’t think before they bring down the pillars for schools like Vivekanand. We talk about socio economic equality but don’t waste a minute to destroy schools like Vivekanand who has been a savior to many children from the lower strata of the society. Hypocrisy is the word ………………..
This school has been home to many who contribute their success to the lovely environment and great teachers. Hope I could do something more than ranting about the goodness. All I can say is “A salute to this dying light”
This sounds like a great school and I hope that it will be able to continue its good work - helping and preparing children to make the best of themselves.
"Vivekananda School" A True place which Imparts Social Ethics with good knowledge, so that students who all are studying there get the maximum output, and ready to compete with outer world. Once upon a time, I was also a part of the School and I had spent a great period out there, What Vivekananda School has given to me, cannot be defined in few words. Like me, others who studied in this school have similar thought about this school. This School has enlightened the life of numerous students and still in process of doing so. During my Last visit, I saw tremendous changes in Study pattern and teaching methodologies. I want to give my heartiest thank to my all teachers Especially Devrani Sir, Sharma Mam, Anjani Sir, Richa Mam ( Left the School) and many others.
